I recently reinstalled a clean version of XP Pro, which somehow only had me set-up an "Administrator" account at the start. Upon coming up with the first XP screens, MUD-addict me installed MUSHClient immediately (and activeperl, too). After that I set-up an admin account for my name.

When I restarted into my account, MUSH Client was not showing as installed (no surprise here). I opened MUSH from the directory I installed it from, then opened one of my old world files. When it came to running any of my plugins it said something like: XML error, .\worlds\plugins\constants.pl cannot be found. I looked in that folder, and constants.pl was there.

So I reinstalled MUSH, but after downloading, it keeps giving me "Error opening file for writing: .\worlds\plugins\constants.vbs" (and all of the other files in the .\worlds\plugins folder.

Keep in my mind that I was not able to clean uninstall MUSH since I was unable to go back to the original "Administrator" account, so I just simply deleted the folder. I've tried so many times already its frustrating.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Reboot your computer to Safe Mode. (Press F8 during startup).

The Adminstrator account will now show up. If you did not create a password, it won't have one yet. CREATE AN ADMIN PASSWORD TO PROTECT YOUR BOX!

Now, also while as Admin, create your new User Profile, or edit it to give it Admin rights.

Voila!

Gah, I'm dumb.

Finally got it to work. Forgot MUSH had its own uninstall program.
